This Privacy Policy explains how Open Utility Apps ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the Android app PDF Summarizer & Image to Text (the "App"), available on Google Play. By using the App you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Summary

• Scanning, text recognition (OCR) and PDF text extraction run on your device.
• Your documents, extracted text, AI results and chat history are stored only on your device.
• Only when you use an AI feature (AI analysis, Ask AI chat, AI handwriting scan or translation) is the text or image you chose sent to our server for processing. We do not store your document content after the request is answered.
• We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number, and we do not require an account.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, which uses device identifiers as described below.

2. Information processed on your device

The following stays on your phone and is not sent to us:

• Files, photos and camera images you scan or import, and the text extracted from them.
• Your document library (extracted text, AI analysis results, chat history, titles) saved in the App's private storage.
• Reminders you create for due dates. They are scheduled as local notifications by Android.
• App settings such as theme and language choices.

On-device text recognition and the document scanner are provided by Google ML Kit through Google Play services. Images are processed on the device; Google may collect limited diagnostic and usage data about these components under its own terms.

3. Information sent to our server

Document text or image you choose to process with AI	Only when you tap an AI feature (analysis, Ask AI, AI handwriting/scan, translation). Sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our server on Cloudflare, processed by AI models on Cloudflare Workers AI, and the result is returned to your device.	Not stored. Random app install ID	A random identifier created by the App on first launch. It is not linked to your name, email or phone number. Used to count your AI credits, apply daily/monthly limits and prevent abuse.	Usage counters: daily counters up to 7 days, monthly counters up to 3 months.
Purchase information (Google Play purchase token and product ID)	Only if you buy a subscription. Used to confirm with Google Play that your purchase is valid, active or cancelled, and to prevent sharing of one purchase across many devices. We never receive your payment card details.	A one-way hash of the token and its verification result: up to 30 days. Link between a purchase and app install IDs: while the purchase may be active.
Rewarded ad confirmation	When you watch a rewarded ad for a bonus credit, Google AdMob sends our server a signed confirmation containing your random install ID and a transaction ID.	Up to 7 days.
Technical request data (IP address, approximate country, time, error information)	Received automatically with each request. Used for security, rate limiting, preventing abuse, setting regional plan limits and fixing errors.	Not saved in our database. May appear in Cloudflare service logs for up to 7 days.
AI content reports	Only if you use "Report AI output": the reason you pick and the AI text you are reporting, used to improve safety and quality.	Up to 7 days in service logs.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of the App shows banner, interstitial and rewarded ads from Google AdMob. Premium subscribers do not see ads. To deliver, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and ad interaction data.

• Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent message (User Messaging Platform) and can change their choice at any time from Menu → Ad privacy settings in the App.
• You can reset or delete your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads or Settings → Privacy → Ads).

5. Purchases (Google Play Billing)

Subscriptions are processed by Google Play. Google handles your payment details under the Google Privacy Policy. We only receive the purchase token and product ID described above. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.

6. Permissions the App uses

• Camera – to scan documents and take photos for text extraction. Only used when you start a scan.
• Notifications – to show due-date reminders you create.
• Internet – for AI features, ads, purchases and purchase verification.
• Run at startup – to restore your scheduled reminders after the phone restarts.
• Billing – to offer subscriptions through Google Play.

The App does not request access to your contacts, location, microphone or entire photo gallery. Files are opened only when you pick them in the system file picker or share them to the App.

7. How we use information

• To provide the App's features, including AI analysis, chat, handwriting recognition and translation.
• To manage free and premium AI credits and verify purchases.
• To show ads in the free version and grant rewarded-ad credits.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fraud, and fix problems.

We do not use your documents to build advertising profiles, and we do not use your documents to train AI models.

8. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the App, under their own privacy terms:

• Cloudflare, Inc. – server hosting, security and AI processing (Cloudflare Workers and Workers AI). Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
• Google LLC – AdMob advertising and consent management, Google Play Billing and in-app review, ML Kit on-device scanning and text recognition. Google Privacy Policy.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and services.

9. Data retention and deletion

• On your device: delete any document in My documents (swipe or long-press), or uninstall the App to remove all App data from your phone.
• On our server: data is deleted automatically within the periods listed in section 3. Because we do not know who you are, we cannot link server records to you by name, but you can contact us to request deletion at any time.
• Advertising data collected by Google is retained under Google's policies; you can reset your advertising ID in Android settings.

10. Security

All communication between the App and our server uses HTTPS encryption. Requests are authenticated, rate-limited and checked for abuse. Your documents are kept in the App's private storage, which other apps cannot access. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

11. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, or California privacy laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, withdraw consent, and complain to a data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. You can withdraw ad consent anytime from Menu → Ad privacy settings in the App.

13. International processing

Our servers run on Cloudflare's global network, so information may be processed in countries other than your own. We rely on our providers' safeguards for such transfers.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Significant changes will also be noted in the App's release notes.
